Rectifier Technologies (RFT), formerly ICE, is the holding company for Rectifier Technologies Pacific (RTP), Protran Technologies and ICERT Power. RTP is a global leader in the research and development of switch mode rectifiers. Protran is a manufacturer of custom wound magnetic components used in power electronics, and industrial applications for the telecommunications industry.

The company was listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 22 September, 1994. ICE acquired Protran and changed its name to Industrial and Commercial Electronic Products Limited. In 1999, ICE acquired Rectifier Technologies Pacific and in the following year, changed its name to ICE Corporation Ltd. In 2004, the company acquired Topaz Power, who specialises in the design and manufacturing of DC power systems. The company was renamed to its current name in November 2007.

The company has carried out a number of strategic acquisitions, and established alliances in key markets such as China, the Us and South America. The company is in a position to benefit from the additional infrastructure requirements in China due to the 2008 Olympics.

Major customers include retailers and wholesalers of electrical components, and telecommunication companies. Its competitors are other electrical component manufacturers. The Company has operations in Australia, Malaysia and United Kingdom. The Company’s subsidiaries include Protran Technologies Pty Ltd, Rectifier Technologies Pacific Pty Ltd, ICERT Power Pty Ltd, ICERT Pty Ltd, Cherny Share Plan Nominees Pty Ltd and ICERT Inc.
