Poseidon Nickel (POS) will become a significant player in nickel production in Western Australia. The company's cornerstone asset is the historic Windarra Nickel Project located in the highly prospective area of the N.E. Goldfields of Western Australia. The mine was previously operated by WMC Resources (now BHP Billiton) who produced over 80K tonnes of nickel metal at the site.

The company listed on the Australian Stockmarket (ASX) on 29 November, 1993. In July 2007, NIA changed its name and company code to Poseidon Nickel Ltd (POS). Poseidon Nickel's subsidiaries include Poseidon Nickel Atlantis Operations Pty Ltd and Poseidon Nickel Olympia Operations Pty Ltd. In March 2009, the Company sold the gold rights on its West Australian tenements.

On 24 September 2004, NIA agreed to take a 40.12% interest in Ausgold Ghana Limited, a Ghanaian registered company. In late January 2005, an agreement was reached with BHP Billiton Nickel West to purchase the Windarra nickel assets and the development of this project will become the Company's top priority.

Poseidon NickelPoseidon Nickel's major customers would include the retail, wholesale and international markets. Its competitors consist of other mining companies such as Jabiru Metals (JBL). The mining industry is a global industry, which is highly competitive. Most oil and metals are sold into the global spot markets, whilst gas, coal and iron ore is typically sold under long term contract arrangements with utilities, large industrial users and steel plants.
