Perpetual Limited (PPT) is a company engaged in offering services such as financial advice, managed investment fund, wealth management, trustee, and family and superannuation management. Perpetual Limited operates mainly in two business segments: wealth management and corporate trust.
The wealth management business segment of Perpetual Limited operates through the company's subsidiaries that include Personal Private Clients, PI Investment Management and Perpetual Investments.
Personal Private Clients specialises in providing high net worth individuals with financial solutions. The services provided by this business segment include ongoing investment advice and strategic advice management, custodial solutions, DIY super services, estate administration, executorial services, estate planning and trustee services such as charitable trusts.
The PI Investment Management Limited (PIIML) is PPT's global investment manager in London and in Dublin. This business segment gets support from the resources of Australian operation of Perpetual Limited and is divided into three business lines: sales/clients service, support operations and investment management.
The corporate trust business segment is engaged in the provision of fiduciary services that incorporate assets recording and safekeeping as well as transactions as trustees, custodian, agent or registrar for the company's financial and corporate clients.
Perpetual Company History
Perpetual Limited was first founded as Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited in 1886. It was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1963. The Perpetual Executors & Trustees Association of Australia Ltd, Perpetual Trustee Company Ltd and Queensland trustees Ltd founded The Perpetual Trustees group. Trustees W.A joined the group in 1985 and West Australian Trustees in 1989.
Perpetual James Fielding Wholesale Property Income Fund was introduced in 2004. The fund gives investors revelation to both listed and non-listed property sectors within one investment vehicle. Perpetual WealthFocus Term Allocated Pension Plan was formed provide numerous benefits to retirees including social security entitlement’s increase and to have an access to Pension Reasonable Benefit Limit.
Perpetual traded 100% of ASX Perpetual Registrars to Pacific Equity Partners in August 2005. Robert Savage was selected as the company's Chairman in the same month. 50% stake in Perpetual James Fielding was obtained by the company in September 2005 which belongs to its partner Mirvac Limited. Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited altered its name to Perpetual Limited in January 2006.
Wignalls Lenders Mortgage Services was acquired by the company in February 2007. Wignalls used to be a mortgage settlement and processing company. The company introduced capital structured product capital for retail investors.
