The National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSX), formerly The Stock Exchange of Newcastle Limited is Australia's second official stock exchange. It is a market for small to medium, prominent regional businesses and sub-exchanges like the Australian Wine Exchange.

The NSX was first founded in 1937 and incorporated in 1972, and reactivated under Corporations Law as the NSX in 2000 and fully regulated by ASIC. It became listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 13 January 2005. The company later changed its name to The National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSX).

NSX provides a platform to access growth capital for innovative and growing businesses as well as segments of the economy requiring tradeable securities. It does so by providing specialist listings in certain investment sectors, supplementing listings in the major markets and attracting emerging new businesses.

Major competitors would include other regional stock exchanges and major exchanges such as the ASX.The Water Exchange Pty Ltd activities, which provide a facility for the trading of water entitlements, and environmental services, which encompasses areas where the Company is involved in environment space, such as carbon.
