Mount Burgess Mining (MTB) currently has an interest in four active projects situated in Australia, Namibia and Botswana, all of which are currently being explored. Additional ground has also been applied for in Australia which is still subject to grant. Exploration companies aim to discover and delineate occurrences of metals and minerals that can be economically mined and extracted. The company was listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 5 September 1985.

Apart from exploration in Australia, MTB are diversified and include operations in Namibia and Botswana. They have 90% ownership in Namibia, 100% ownership in Botswana and a joint venture with Barrick Gold in Australia. MTB's major customers would include the retail, wholesale and international markets. Its competitors consist of other gold, nickel and diamond mining companies such as Marengo Mining (MGO). The mining industry is a global industry, which is highly competitive.

Mount Burgess Mining's projects include Kihabe Base Metals Project, Tsumkwe Diamond Project, Hardap Project and North Western Ngamiland Project. The Kihabe base metals project is located on the border of Botswana and Namibia about 700 kilometers north-west of Gaborone, Ngamiland. The Tsumkwe diamond project is located on the north-eastern border of Namibia adjacent to the Kihabe base metals project and the Western Ngamiland Diamond project in Botswana. The North Western Ngamiland project is located on the north western border of Botswana and adjoins the Company’s Tsumkwe Diamond Project in Namibia. It operates in Australia, Namibia and Botswana. As of June 30, 2009, it was developing a 27 million tons zinc, lead and silver resource in Botswana, as well as exploring for diamond in both Botswana and Namibia. Its subsidiaries include Mount Burgess (Botswana) (Pty) Ltd, Aten Investments (Pty) Ltd and Leda Investments (Pty) Ltd.
