Monitor Energy (MHL) previously known as Monitor Holdings is an oil and gas explorer. The company has acquired White Valley Oil LLC, a Kyrgyz registered company, created to develop oil and gas exploration opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic and adjacent regions in Central Asia.

Monitor Energy Ltd (MHL) listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 2 November 1989 and operates in the healthcare equipment and services industry. The company has undergone a series of name changes and in December 2005, the company changed its name from M Health Limited to Monitor Holdings Limited, focusing on oil and gas exploration. Monitor Holdings changed its name to Monitor Energy in April 2007.

The acquisition of Kyrgyzstan Oil Exploration Licence allows Monitor Holdings to diversify its business interests. The licence covers a region which has been identified as having similar geology to the highly productive Tarim Basin in China.

Major competitors include Australian exploration companies with assets in the Krygyz Republic and surrounding regions. These include Caspian Oil & Gas Ltd, Monaro Mining Ltd, Central Asian Gold Ltd and Perseus Mining Ltd. As an explorer, Monitor Holdings has no customers at present.
