JB Hi-Fi (JBH) is a leading retailer of diversified home consumer products. The products JB Hi-Fi retails include consumer electronics, such as televisions, home theatres, digital still, video cameras, mobile phones and accessories; electrical goods, such as whitegoods, computing equipment, kitchen equipment, air conditioners and small electrical appliances; car sound systems, including audio and visual, and music, games and movies. JB Hi-Fi listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on October 23, 2003. JBH offers a wide range of home entertainment and electrical products in Australia and New Zealand at very low prices, via its stores JB Hi-Fi, Clive Anthonys and Hill & Stewart. The Company commenced its operations in Melbourne and Brisbane and it is making rapid progress. JBH is focused on establishing stores in major cities of Australia as well as in some larger regional areas. JBH purchased the Queensland Clive Anthony chain of stores, supplier of consumer electronics, white goods, cooking appliances and air-conditioning, in July 2004. It acquired Auckland Hill & Stewart chain in March 2007, with a vision to expand its New Zealand operations.

Apart from supplying a broad range of specialist Hi-Fi products, JBH also provides a huge range of video games, recorded music, DVD music and DVD movies at discounted prices, with an online purchasing facility. The key distinguishing factors of the Company are its quality brands, broad range, lowest costs, convenient locations and its highly skilled experienced staff.

JB Hi-Fi History

The business was started by Mr. John Barbuto (JB) in 1974, with a focus on discount retailing of Hi-Fi equipment and recorded music via a single store in Melbourne. In 1983, the business operations were sold. In August 2000, the business was purchased by vendor shareholders, with 10 stores in operation at that time. Now the Company has over 100 stores. JBH became floated on the Australian Stock Exchange on the ASX on 23 October 2003. In July 2004, JBH purchased Queensland Clive Anthony stores chain. It acquired the business operations of Auckland Hill & Stewart chain in March 2007.
