James Hardie Industries N.V. (JHX) is a specialist manufacturer of building materials, operating in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. The Company develops fiber cement products and systems for use in interior and exterior building construction applications. The Company listed on the Australian stock Exchange on 15th October, 2001. To date, the Company has more than 3,000 staff employed, with its annual revenue reaching up to US$900 million per year. The Company supplies a number of Hardie brands and other brands of its fiber cement products and systems which include Artisan Lap and Artisan Accent Trim by James Hardie and Cemplank siding. JHX operates through three divisions: USA Fibre Cement, Asia Pacific Fibre Cement and Other. USA Fibre Cement is engaged in the manufacturing and supply of fibre cement interior linings, exterior siding and associated accessories products to the United States markets. Asia Pacific Fibre Cement is engaged in the supply of fibre cement manufactured in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines to Australian, New Zealand and Asian markets. Other carries out its manufacturing and distribution operations of fibre cement reinforced pipes and roofing in the United States, with fibre cement operations in Europe.
The Company’s success is centered around its industry leadership in products, advanced innovative technology, manufacturing and brand management. The Company aims to build a strong presence in global market and to increase the shareholder value by focusing on improved technology, lower production costs and diversifying its product range.

James Hardie Industries N.V. (JHX) was formed in October 2001. It is the operator of the James Hardie group of companies, with worldwide operations. It floated on the Australian Stock Exchange on 15th October, 2001 and subsequently expanded its operations to include building and industrial products businesses to its portfolio. During mid 80s, the James Hardie introduced its innovative fibre cement technology, which it uses in the manufacturing of diversified fibre cement building materials. At present, James Hardie is principally focused on fibre cement business, with operations mainly held in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. It entered into the Philippines and Europe markets during the last 5 years.
