IMF (Australia) (IMF) provides litigation funding and related services in insolvency and commercial cases and group actions, where the claim size is over $2M. IMF's services include funding for litigation, including preliminary investigations; payment of adverse costs orders; management of litigation; factual investigation including asset tracing; and assistance in facilitating settlements and maximising claim value. IMF has offices in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane.

IMF has expertise in the funding and management of large-scale commercial litigation and management of multiparty actions. Funding is only provided for claims over $2M. IMF has established a credible reputation amongst institutional shareholders, particularly through the Aristocrat case.

IMF's customers include individuals, companies and groups that have insufficient money to pursue a good claim, are unable to provide security to meet a security costs order, wish to diversify the financial risk of litigation or are concerned about being exposed to pay the other side's costs. Competitors include other litigation funders and general financial lenders. IMF faces competition largely from overseas sources in the area of corporate continuous disclosure.

IMF (Australia) Head Office

The company was renamed to IMF Australia Limited on 28 November 2002 from Insolvency Management Fund Limited. It was listed on the ASX on 28 January 2000. In March 2008, Claims Funding International plc was established in a joint venture with interests in Maurice Blackburn Pty Ltd in Ireland to pursue opportunities in Europe.
