Imdex (IMD) is a Perth-based company that provides drilling products and technical services to the mining industry in Australia and overseas. IMD provides drilling fluids, chemicals, tools and equipment as well as geophysical logging, surveying and steering services. Imdex Limited listed on the ASX in December 2004. The company acquired Samchem Drilling Fluids & Chemicals Pty Ltd in August 2005.

With effect from September 1, 2008, Imdex acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Wildcat Chemicals Australia Pty Ltd, which manufactures production and completion chemicals for the oil and gas industry. With effect from January 1, 2008, the Company acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Imdex Technology Germany GmbH (ITG). On June 30, 2008, the Company acquired the remaining 25% interest in Suay Energy Services LLP.

Australian Mud Company is a leading supplier of drilling fluids and chemicals in Australia. It holds a dominant position in the Australian mining and water-well market. Furthermore, the company has strong export ties to Africa, Asia and South America.

With such a variety of services and products being offered, Imdex Limited has a vast client base in Australia and overseas, servicing more than 20 countries. Clients include major resources companies, including BHP Billiton, Newcrest, Anglogold and Rio Tinto. It competes against other companies offering similar drilling products and technical services.
