Greenvale Mining (GRV) is a minerals exploration company with its main focus on oil shale deposits in Queensland and Western Australia. Exploration companies aim to discover and delineate occurrences of metals and minerals that can be economically mined and extracted. Greenvale Mining listed on the ASX on 28 July 1971.

The Company’s Alpha deposit is located 62 kilometers southeast of the nearest township, Alpha, a small rural community in central Queensland approximately 750 air kilometers from Brisbane and approximately 500 kilometers west of the regional center.

The Nagoorin deposit MDL is situated in the elongated north-westerly trending Boyne Valley, which is located in the Nagoorin Graben. The Company's Lowmead Oil Shale Deposit is located 5 kilometers west of the Electra fault, which has been traced for over 150 kilometers. In August 2009, the Company sold its 45% interest in Minga Pty Limited to its associate Boss Energy Limited.

GRV has established joint ventures with Esperance Minerals N.L. to explore the Alpha, Lowmead and Nagoorin oil shale deposits. Most oil is sold into global spot markets, whilst gas is typically sold under long-term contract arrangements with utilities, large industrial users and steel plants. Key competitors include Rio Tinto, BHP, CH4 Gas Ltd (CHX) and Bounty Oil & Gas (BUY).
