Global Masters Fund (GFL) was created to satisfy a growing appetite for investing globally in order to spread risk and to benefit from the rewards available in some of the higher growth global economies. GFL was incorporated in NSW on 12th May 2004. It undertook an IPO in 2005. GFL was listed on the ASX on 16 May 2006.

Currently Global Masters has the majority of its investment in the USA domiciled investment company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE code: BRK:A) with the remainder in bond and cash funds.

Berkshire Hathaway, arguably the world's most successful investment company, has achieved an average return of 21.9% p.a. over the past 40 years and is still actively managed by its founders Warren Buffet and Charles Munger. An investment in Global Masters is suited to investors who are seeking long-term capital growth from a portfolio managed by one of the most respected investors in the USA.

The investment combination of a New York Stock Exchange listed stock (Berkshire Hathaway class A Stock), and a range of wholesale bond and cash funds differentiates the Global Masters Fund Limited from its competitors.

Small share funds, institutions and retail investors are the major shareholders/customers of listed investment companies. There is substantial cross ownership within the listed investment company sector. Australian Foundation Investment Company (AFI) and Argo Investments Limited (ARG) dominate the listed investment company sector in terms of market capitalisation.
