Equity Trustees History

Equity Trustees was established in 1888 by an Act of the Victorian Parliament to provide trustee and executor services. In an effort to block any one group exerting undue control over the management and trust funds of EQT, the company's shares were suspended by the Melbourne Stock Exchange from 1972 to 1985. EQT listed on the ASX on 6 August 1985. In 2002, EQT expanded from a trustee company to include various funds management services following changes to the Managed Investments Act.
