Desert Energy’s aim is to discover high-value mineral deposits in order to create wealth for its shareholders. The Company is currently focused on projects which it considers are prospective for uranium. It was listed at ASX on 15 August, 2007.
To assist in reducing risk, the Company has a preference for projects with known indications of mineralisation. Following data review, tenements and tenement applications are generally ranked. Those selected for the Company’s exploration portfolio are considered for inclusion in its exploration budget for direct exploration by Desert Energy.
Curnamona Energy (CUY) is an exploration company primarily searching for uranium in South Australia. Key projects are located in the Lake Frome Region of northeastern South Australia. Curnamona Energy was incorporated in January 2005. It listed on the ASX on 19 April 2005.
Crossland Uranium Mines Limited (CUX) focuses on the discovery of uranium deposits and develops profitable uranium mines. The company has a 100% interest in all its uranium and diamond properties. CUX's key projects are located several areas, which have had previous uranium discoveries; they are in the Pine Creek Orogen of the Northern Territory, the Arunta Province of central Australia and in the Curnamona Province of South Australia.
Cougar Energy's (CXY) business focus is the development of commercial projects using Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) technology, which aims to provide cost effective and environmentally friendly solutions to both the Australian and international energy markets. Cougar also owns 47.8 percent of its subsidiary company, Cougar Energy (UK) Limited (an unlisted company in the UK). Cougar Energy (UK) was established to develop similar UCG based opportunities in India, Pakistan, the UK and Europe, with projects in the rest of the world remaining with the Australian company.
Coretrack (CKK) is focused on the research, development and commercialisation of the company's proprietary technology, known as the Core Barrel Capacity Gauge. This technology is targeted at the coring services sector of both the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry. As of June 30, 2009, the Company’s primary focus is on the introduction of its technology, the Core Level Recorder System (CLRS), into the coring and exploration sector. In February 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of Globe Drill Pty Ltd. Pursuant to the transaction Coretrack holds 100% in Globe Drill Pty Ltd.
Comet Ridge (COI) is a natural gas and coal seam gas exploration company with production assets in Queensland and in New South Wales. Gas explorers own rights to explore for commodities in certain areas, and discovery goes through several stages from initial finding to test and appraisal wells and finally to production. Often joint ventures are formed to offset the risk and costs involved. The company was listed on the ASX in April 2004. Its head office is situated in Perth. COI has expanded its business over the years mainly through its joint venture partnerships locally and abroad.
Cockatoo Coal (COK) is a coal exploration company, with several tenements in Queensland which was incorporated in New South Wales on 28 January 2005. COK listed on the ASX on 19 December 2005. The company's lead projects are the Wonbindi and Dingo projects, situated in the Bowen and Surat basins. COK also has projects in the Clarence-Moreton and Tarong basins, and to date has identified more than 138Mt of total coal resources (JORC).
Coal Fe Resources Limited (CES) exploits opportunities in Indonesia in undertaking coal exploration, mining, processing and trading. The company has acquired mining rights to coal projects in Indonesia and will also consider acquisitions of similar mining projects in Australia and elsewhere. CES's two lead coal projects are the Kilisuci project in South Sumatra and Abadi in East Kalimantan. CES was listed on ASX on 12 April, 2007.
