East Coast Minerals (ECM) is an Australia-based company with its principal activity was mineral exploration and investment. As of June 30, 2009, East Coast had two streams of investment: the traditional investment in the exploration of precious and base metals, and an investment in underground coal gasification (UCG) through its controlling interest in Energie Future equity. The Company has two exploration areas in Western Australia, Elizabeth Hill and Gossan Dam. As of June 30, 2009, the Company was engaged in exploring for silver and base metal mineralization. In August 2009, Boss Energy Limited acquired 100% of Minga Pty Ltd. from Greenvale Mining NL, East Coast Minerals NL and Esperance Minerals NL.

ECM was listed at ASX on 9 April, 1970. It has investment in Elizabeth Hill and a 51% interest in Energie Future. They look forward to being able to fully recognise the potential value of these investments in the short term. The Elizabeth Hill interest and the Mustang anomaly is in the Pilbara region of WA, exploring for precious and base metals. Energie Future has Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) interests in Australia and the USA.

The philosophy of the company is to become a "mining house", whereupon we take an interest in promising mining opportunities and apply their expertise to commercialise and crystallise the opportunity to create and extract shareholder wealth. Drilling at the Munni Munni tenement in the Pilbara region of Western Australia has confirmed the presence of nickel, copper, palladium, platinum and gold occurrences. In addition concentrates from the mining industry are generally sold to smelters in the main markets of Asia, Europe and North America. For bulk commodities, long-term contracts are often established with annual price reviews. For metals, sales agreements tend to be much more short term and therefore subject to price fluctuations according to global price trends. The mining industry is a global industry, which is highly competitive.
