Discovery Metals Limited (DML), formerly known as Discovery Nickel (DNL) is an exploration company that looks to acquire high-quality nickel-copper exploration and development projects within world-class nickel provinces. DML controls a project portfolio in excess of 9,500sqkm of Ni-Cu exploration property. The company was originally called AIM Nickel Limited. DNL was incorporated in May 2003 and became officially listed on the ASX on 17 December 2003. The company changed its name to Discovery Metals Limited (DML) on December 2006.

Discovery Metals has 100% interest in Boseto Copper Project, which is located in north-west Botswana, approximately 80 kilometers south-west of the town of Maun, within the district of Ngamiland. The Company has 85% interest in Dikoloti Nickel Project in north east Botswana. It operates in Australia and Botswana. As of June 30, 2009, the Company's wholly owned subsidiaries included Discovery Copper Botswana (Proprietary) Ltd, Discovery Metals Botswana (Proprietary) Ltd, Discovery Mines (Proprietary) Ltd and Discovery North East (Proprietary) Ltd.

DML strategic projects are located in proven nickel provinces such as northeastern Botswana, Africa and the world-class Yilgarn Craton (WA); as well as emerging nickel provinces such as the West Musgrave (WA), Arunta (NT), Litchfield (NT) and western Tasmania. The NE Botswana Nickel Project represents a unique opportunity to apply modern exploration techniques to perhaps the only poorly explored globally significant nickel province.

Concentrates from the mining industry are generally sold to smelters in the main markets of Asia, Europe and North America. For bulk commodities, long-term contracts are often established with annual price reviews. For metals, sales agreements tend to be much more short term and therefore subject to price fluctuations according to global price trends. The mining industry is a global industry, which is highly competitive.
