Cougar Metals NL (CGM) is an exploration company, with a focus on gold and nickel. Cougar’s primary focus is on the Murchison Province in Western Australia. In addition to its Murchison assets, Cougar also has an interest in several nickel and cobalt exploration projects in the Northern Goldfields, Western Australia. The company has secured options over several gold assets in Brazil. Cougar Metals NL (CGM) was formed in May 2002 and listed on the ASX on December 11, 2003.

During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009 (fiscal 2009), the Company focused on Alta Floresta Gold Project in Brazil, and the expansion of Geologica Sondagens, the Company’s contract drilling subsidiary company. Cougar’s exploration activities at the Alta Floresta Project focused on the Apiacas area in the west of the Alta Floresta Gold Belt. The Company operates five diamond, one RC and one RAB rig on GeoLogica Sondagens. Its subsidiaries include Goldview Corporation Pty Ltd and Cougar Brasilia Pty Ltd.

CGM's management intends to develop positive cashflow from smaller, less capital intensive projects and then applying these proceeds to the on-going pursuit of larger mineralised systems. The gold and nickel industries are very competitive internationally and are sensitive to economic and exchange rate fluctuations. Thus, CGM's competitors include those based in Australia and abroad. As CGM is still an explorer, it currently has no customers at present.
