
ISS Group Limited (ISS) is an information and technology company. ISS is focused on developing and marketing application and software structure for gas, mineral and oil processing industries. Included in the key application of the company is the BabelFish Framework in which the data from the process control systems, management systems as well as the field equipment can be collated on an ad-hoc or shift basis and in real time. ISS also focuses on the development of software applications for the improvement of the companies' operational efficiency in the resources sector. These products are offered in two categories: business applications and data integration and visualisation.
BabelFish also offers a framework for the integration of other ISS applications from the Gas, Mining and Oil Suite. A software development kit that supports third party applications for the BabelFish integration is also offered by ISS Group Limited.
ISS Group Company History
ISS Group Limited was established in Perth, Western Australia in 1995. The company partially produced custom applications. This was for operational staff assigned in the resources sector. In 2004, it was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
ISS took a pact to generate Geoscience Information management Systems for Santos in 2005. This company is one of the largest gas and oil companies in Australia. ISS's North American reseller accepted a contract to provide Operational Conformance products and Babelfish software to Shell Canada in August 2006.
Industrial Software Solutions, one of the company’s business accepted AusIndustry Commercial Ready grant to research and develop its Geospatial product in September 2006. The grant cost AUD$863,373 and the development should be completed for one year and a half.
In June 2007, the company agreed to provide operational applications and Babelfish software to Fortescue Metals Group (FMGL). Saudi Aramco ordered ISS to check good performance of Babelfish in real time in July 2007. Saudi Aramco is one of the largest oil producers in the world. In August 2007, Microsoft asked ISS to come up with a solution for Manufacturing Execution System for FMGL.
