CI Resources (CII) is mainly involved in investments in other companies. The major investment is held in Phosphate Resources Limited whose principal activity is mining, processing and sale of phosphate rock and phosphate dust and the providing of earthmoving, fuel and stevedoring services to other Christmas Island organisations.The Company operates in two geographical segments being Australia and South Africa. The Ruighoek Chrome Project is located on the Western Lobe of the Bushveld Igneous Complex in the North West Province of South Africa. The Company’s subsidiaries include Chrome Holdings Ltd, Bonmerci Investments 103 (Pty) Ltd, Batlhako Mining Ltd and ACN 134 911 345 Pty Ltd. CI Resources (CII) was incorporated as Asset Backed Securities in Victoria in 1987. It listed on the second board of the ASX in the same year, and shifted to the main board in 1992. The company changed its name to CI Resources Limited in June 2005. CII concentrates its investments primarily on Phosphate Resources Limited. It also has interests in several Fertiliser Plants in China. Institutional and retail investors are the major shareholders/ customers of CII. In addition, it competes with other listed investment companies.
