Boral History
On 4 March 1946, Bitumen & Oil Refineries (Aust.) Ltd (BLD), the first Australian-owned bitumen and oil refinery, was integrated. In the late 1960s, the Company focused on the growth of its quarrying activities and stepped into the pre-mixed concrete industry. In late 1999, it was decided to divide Boral Group's building and construction materials and energy businesses into two industry-specific Australian listed companies.
