Aura Energy (AEE) is a mining and mineral exploration Company. Aura was incorporated to acquire and explore uranium deposits located in Western Australia. The Company is mainly searching for uranium in Australia and in other regions field where it can carry out its operations. Aura Energy listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on May 30, 2006. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006, Aura had a portfolio of 33 exploration licenses and applications having potential for uranium ore deposits. These licenses and applications expand over an area of round about 5986 square kilometers. Its tenements consist of about 900 kilometers of prospective channels and palaeochannels. The Company's key assets incorporate the Nambi project, the Musson project, the Wongawal project and the Alton project. Its Altona project holds two exploration licenses covering 115 kilometers of calcrete-bearing channels. The Nambi project comprises a number of uranium channel radiometric peaks located in the Lake Way, Lake Maitland drainage system south of Lake Maitland.

Aura is principally focused on the exploration of three kinds of uranium deposits which include Calcrete–hosted uranium deposits, Sandstone-hosted deposits located in Permian, Mesozoic and Tertiary palaeo-channels and Mulga Rocks-type lignite hosted deposits found in Tertiary palaeo-channels. The Company aims to discover economic uranium deposits. Aura’s competitive advantage lies in its skilled exploration team, its portfolio of exploration licenses and in the prospects that exist for the future development of the Company. A substantial business expansion programme aimed at acquiring further assets is also in progress.
