African Iron (AKI) Formerly known as Stirling Minerals is an Australia-based company. The Company is principally engaged in resource mineral exploration. The Company operates in one industry, mineral resource exploration and assessment of mineral projects, and in one geographical segment, being Australia.
Stirling is exploring the Quidong Base Metals and Gold Project located near Bombala, New South Wales, in southeastern portion of the highly prospective Lachlan Fold Belt. The Quidong Project comprises EL5671, EL6888 and EL7192 with a combined area of approximately 273 square kilometers. Quidong Minerals Pty Ltd is the Company's wholly owned subsidiary. In January 2011, the Company acquired DMC Mining Limited from Cape Lambert Resources Limited.
