Gunns (GNS), a fully integrated hardwood forest products company with a focus on milling, timber processing and merchandising, building and hardware supplies merchandising and building contractors with a market capitalisation of $881.9 million was the best performer of the 38th week in the Australian Stock Exchange with a gain of 18.7 percent closing the week at $1.15. Gunns shares were closed at 97 cents in the prior week It was a mixture of Merchandising, Exploration and Media companies in the in the Australian Stock Exchange: Gunns (GNS), Macquarie Media Group (MMG), Carnarvon Petroleum (CVN). Macquarie Media Group (MMG), a major investor in the media industry that invests in a international portfolio of media assets with a market capitalisation of $365.6 million was next in the list adding 16.6 percent to its stock price and was closed for the week at $1.93. The third place was taken by Carnarvon Petroleum (CVN), an Australia based company that concentrates in exploration, development and production of resources like oil and gas. Carnarvon added 16.5 percent to its stock price and closed at 60 cents and had a market capitalisation of $410.2 million. The fourth and fifth places were taken by Lynas Corporation and Molopo Australia respectively with Lynas adding 15.5 percent and Molopo 13.3 percent.
