Transfield Services (TSE), a company that provides services in sectors like maintenance, operations, assets and project management was the worst performer in the ASX100 index losing 13.4 percent or 36 cents in its stock price and was closed for the week at $2.31. It was a mixture of Services, Utilities, Energy and Exploration companies in the list of the worst performers for the 26th week of 2009: Transfield Services (TSE), Nufarm (NUF), Duet Group (DUE), Hastings Diversified Utilities Fund (HDF), Australand Property Group (ALZ), Nexus Energy (NXS). Nufarm (NUF), a company that is engaged in production and distribution of agricultural chemicals to farmers was next in the line with a loss of 12.1 percent or $1.30 closing the week at $9.40. The third worst performer of the ASX100 list was Duet Group (DUE), a major investor in energy utility assets which mainly focuses on Australia and New Zealand that saw a fall of 11.1 percent or 18 cents closing the week at $1.44.
Hastings Diversified Utilities Fund (HDF) which is a diversified utility fund that invests in gas transmission and water utilities infrastructures asset was the worst performer in the ASX200 index with a loss of 16.9 percent or 23 cents in its stock price closing the week at $1.13. Next in the list was Australand Property Group (ALZ), a diversified property group that operates in Sydney, Melbourne, South East Queensland and Perth with a loss of 16 percent or 9 cents and was closed for the week at 47 cents. Nexus Energy (NXS), a company that is involved in exploration and production of oil and gas was in the third position in this list. The company saw a loss of 7 cents in the week closing at 37 cents (-15.1%). Another worst performer of the ASX200 index was Transfield Services (TSE) which was placed fourth in this list.
