The Worst Performers of the Week 21

Elders (ELD), a rural and regional company of Australia that provides financial services and farm inputs for the farmers of Australia and New Zealand was the worst performer for the ASX100 index in the 21st week of 2009 with a loss of 29.1 percent or 12 cents in its stock price closing the week at 28 cents. It was a mixture of Real Estate, Mining and Utility companies in the ASX100 and ASX200 list of worst performers: Elders (ELD), Goodman Group (GMG), Boart Longyear (BLY), Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Group (BBI). Goodman Group (GMG), a company that is involved in the business of ownership, development and management of business and industrial places was the second worst company in the ASX100 losing 20 percent or 6 cents closing at 24 cents. Next company in the line was Boart Longyear (BLY) that provides drilling products and services to energy, infrastructure, environmental, mining and mineral industries with a loss of 17.2 percent 3 cents and was closed for the week at 12 cents.

Elders (ELD) was the worst performing company in the ASX200 as well. Next in the list was Babcock & Brown Infrastructure Group (BBI), which is involved in acquisition, management and operation of quality infrastructure assets in Australia and many other countries with a loss of 20.8 percent or 2 cents and was closed for the week at 7 cents. Goodman Group (GMG) was in the third position in this list. Boart Longyear, Karoon Gas Australia (KAR) and Billabong International (BBG) were three other worst performers of the ASX200 list. Boart Longyear lost 17.2 percent or 3 cents in its ahre price (closing at 12 cents), Karoon Gas saw a fall of 16.5 percent or $1.1 (closing at $5.64) followed Billabong International losing 15.7 percent or $1.6 (was closed at $8.54).
